Here’s a True Crime post and that bit about the woman stuck on her toilet for two years might not, technically, be a crime. Although you’d think her boyfriend, who fed her regularly, would have told someone.

We’ve got an update on the fine Governor Pervert Spitzer and his 22-year old lady friend including the fact that she’s…22! How old are his daughters? Also, an arrest in the murder of the UNC coed, two fine fellows, a web site to rate cops, the strange case of the missing wealthy couple, children in handcuffs and solving a crime via fortune cookie.

Finally, suspended from school for selling Skittles. We’re not making this up.

Is This Web Site REALLY a Danger to Cops?

I regularly post stories about cops gone bad on this site. This is not because I am anti-cop but I’d argue that one rogue cop can reflect badly on them all. I’m also not convinced that allowing another human being the right to zap me silly, not to mention kill me outright, is a good thing without some form of oversight, beyond the police oversight, which might be biased if you think about it.

I also know that the way vast majority of cops are good guys doing a difficult and dangerous job. I was once married to a cop.

Now this web site comes along “Ratemycop.com” and police officers across the country are furious.

The assertion is that by publishing names and badge numbers this somehow puts the cops in danger. Another criticism is that there is no allowance for the impugned police officer to defend his or her self.

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS) ― Police agencies from coast to coast are furious with a new website on the internet. RateMyCop.com has the names of thousands of officers, and many believe it is putting them in danger.

First, I’m not at all sure how such a thing puts a cop in danger. Yes the site allows the user to publish the cop’s name and badge number but beyond that no personal information will be divulged.

I mean, couldn’t I publish a cop’s name and badge number on THIS Blog? And if I published any false information and/or personal information, wouldn’t I be subject to the laws already on the books for such malfeasance?

Aren’t those who perform services subject to having their name and/or business revealed on sites such as Craig’s list? Aren’t police officers in the public domain by the very nature of their job duties?

As for defending themselves, this is a valid argument. But I don’t think it’s a valid argument for shutting the site down.

I mean how bad would this look, a web site set up to report bad cops being shut down by the government?

We’ll keep an eye on this and see where it goes.

Suspending for Buying a Bag of Skittles

Mark Levin, the Great One, ranted on in that inimitable style of his, about this story of a student stripped of his class Vice-President title and suspended for one day, all for the crime of buying a bag of Skittles from a classmate.

I don’t have a link to the story but have copied the following off of a FreeRepublic thread on the Levin show.

Student Suspended For Buying Skittles In School NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) ― Contraband candy has led to big trouble for an eighth-grade honors student. Michael Sheridan was stripped of his title as class vice president, barred from attending an honors student dinner and suspended for a day after buying a bag of Skittles from a classmate. The New Haven school system banned candy sales in 2003 as part of a districtwide school wellness policy, said school spokeswoman Catherine Sullivan-DeCarlo. Shelli Sheridan, Michael's mother, said he is a top student with no previous disciplinary problems. "It's too much. It's too unfair," she said. "He's never even had a detention."

I suppose it seemed like a good idea at the time when this school district banned the sale of candy. Candy rots kids’ teeth and is hardly nutritious. Now we have an honors student, Vice-President of his class, suspended for buying a bag of Skittles.

Shouldn’t schools be teaching stuff like reading, writing and arithmetic?

I imagine this school system will be besieged by angry Mark Levin listeners for this folly.

As one Mark Levin caller pointed out, we have a President of the United States who kept his position even though he diddled with an intern the age of his daughter in the oval office. While this honors student kid, who didn’t know purchasing a bag of Skittles was against the rules, is stripped of his VP title for buying a bag of Skittles.

Common sense doesn’t seem to be all that common any more.

Spitzer’s “Kristen” Revealed

As these things are wont to go, the sordid details of the fine and personable NY DEMOCRAT Governor Spitzer are leaking out bit by sleazy bit.

Now we discover that the call girl the fine, decent former prosecutor and champion of justice Spitzer liked to frequent is a 22 year old girl from New Jersey who was on her own since she was 17 and found herself homeless.

Little girls, yon ladies and gems, never respond to queries of what they want to be when they grown up with the happy statement that they want to be one of the finest prostitutes in the country. Women who are prostitutes are often trapped in a drug nightmare or are totally without resources or the wherewithal to get out of “the life”.

Even prostitutes pulling in over four thousand a gig.

It’s not a nice life and while the fact that prostitution is illegal doesn’t STOP prostitution and the life-ebbing practice of selling one’s body so debasingly, keeping it illegal does serve to keep the practice at a minimum.

Kristen is now 22 years old, just four years older than the fine champion of justice and prosecutor of Wall Street CEO’s for the crime of being capitalists oldest daughter.

Which begs the obvious question, how would Spitzer feel if some other Governor were paying for the whoring services of his desperate daughter?

It seems that every hour the money the very wealthy Spitzer spent on his whoring kept increasing until last I heard he’d been using prostitutes for at least ten years and it’s estimated he’d spent over $100,000 for call girl services.

And still this fine, fine, FINE hypocrite tried desperately to hang onto his powerful position as Governor of New York that he’d purchased fair and square. It was only the wrath of a very angry public which convinced this selfish narcissist to stop down.

Sometimes folks, even the liberals have had enough.

Two Suspects Arrested In Murder of Eve Carson

Here we have two of the finer members of humanity, finally arrested for the cold-blooded murder of Eve Carson. This story was breaking late last night so I didn’t have a pic available for this post. Click on the link for a pic of the brightest amongst us walking the earth.

The Strange Case of John and Elizabeth Calvert

John and Elizabeth Calvert were a prominent couple in Hilton Head Island. The strange saga of their disappearance had been in the news since early this week.

Last night, 3/12/08, it was announced on the Nancy Grace show that the last person to see this couple alive had committed suicide. Thus it’s not a stretch that whoever this guy was he was likely involved in the Calverts’ disappearance.

This story intrigued me not so much for the crime, although it is bizarre, but by the seriousness and gravitas given the “expert” who testified, DUH, that this Underwood fellow has a “socially isolating disorder, a bipolar disorder and several sexual disorders”.

Fortune Cookies Help Solve Crime
Who knew that fortune cookies were so unique?

For this fine thief got charged with the burglary of a Chinese restaurant because the fortune cookies found in his pocket were unique to a Chinese restaurant that had just been burglarized.

TULSA, Okla.—Two fortune cookies helped Tulsa police make an arrest after a pair of break-ins Chinese restaurants. Terrence Middleton, 30, was booked Friday on charges of second-degree burglary and attempted second-degree burglary after police responded to a burglar alarm to find him with more than $20 in coins and the cookies in his pockets, Officer Leland Ashley said.

Four-Year-Old Handcuffed For Not Taking a Nap

Kaitlyn Mae, this Blog’s namesake, is four. And yes, four year olds can be a handful and now that you mention it, Kaitlyn does fight sleep viciously come bedtime.

So should I handcuff her and tell her that this is what happens to bad little girls who don’t take their naps?

Woman Stuck to Boyfriend’s Toilet for Two Years

Her skin had grown around the toilet seat!

It’s not clear whether allowing someone so obviously disturbed to remain on your toilet for two years is a crime of some sort, it is certainly…odd?
