Anna Nicole Smith-Nobody's Heroine, Nobody's Person to Emulate
Just to make this absolutely clear...the view from this humble Blogger is not "quite" the same as Geraldo or other Pop Culture pundits who have Anna Nicole Smith as replacement for the Virgin Mary or, at the least, Marilyn Monroe.

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - Anna Nicole Smith, the former Playboy playmate whose bizarre life careened from marrying an octogenarian billionaire to the untimely death of her son, died Thursday after collapsing at a South Florida hotel, one of her lawyers said.
Smith, 39, collapsed and was unresponsive while staying at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino, said the attorney, Ron Rale. She was rushed to a hospital.
"She checked in Monday at 8 p.m. as a guest. She was due to check out tomorrow," said Danielle Giordaano, a spokeswoman for the hotel.
Anna Nicole Smith's story is just that, a story on very many levels. This past week, Anna Nicole's death raised the status of this big-breasted starlet's story to amazing heights.
For sure hers is a Pop Culture story of this era. A small town girl from Texas manages to force her way onto the pages of tabloids via any number of methods. She "grows" big breasts, she strips, she marries an old guy with one foot in the grave, she has a reality show, she suffers the tragedy of the death of her son.
Hers is a Political story in that Anna Nicole did get a hearing before the Supreme Court, a rather rare event.
Hers is now, surely, a True Crime story, right? Because her constant escort and handler, one Howard K. Stern, seems to always be around when Anna or someone close to her dies. Anna and her son apparently died from too many drugs of some kind and in both cases, only this Rasputin Stern fellow happened to be in attendance. And now Stern asserts, with determination, that HE is the father of Anna Nicole's baby and hey, we must begin to put two and two together and get four.IF Mr. Stern is the father of little Danielle Lynn, go on man, just take a paternity test and be done with it! And yet he does not. Why not?
Now this Stern fellow is God knows where and he has a baby that is not his and he's a fellow that desperately needs to answer some questions, don't we think? I mean, how convenient is it that Anna's son dies...that's one person out of the way on the inheritance thing. Now Anna is dead, hmmm, another impediment to the money out of the way. Oh, but Stern seems to be protecting little Danielle Lynn with all his might because hey, can't have this child die who could get all the money from her mother's inheritance.
If there is a God and law enforcement, this Mr. Stern fellow should be under some serious scrutiny.
Okay, all that being said, I'm still not all that much convinced that HKS actually killed all those people who seem to die all around him. If he did, whew, guy's brave as hell to be effecting all this right under the public's gaze. I DO think HKS needs to be looked at closely if for nothing else, any involvement HE had in getting these two pathetic people the drugs that killed them.
It also seems to me that SOMEBODY, probably a male, is the FATHER of that young baby. A celeb photographer, one Larry Birkhead, claims HE is the father of Anna's baby and frankly, for what it's worth, I believe him.
First, he says that Anna told him he was the father but more, he actually accompanied her to the doctors and together they both saw the first pics of the baby in utero. Seeing ultrasound pics is the kind of thing done with both actual parents. I notice Anna didn't take HKS to view those ultrasound pics. Second, this Birkhead fellow has been doing everything to get a decent paternity test administered and Anna, with help from HKS likely, has been fighting him tooth and nail. If Birkhead WEREN'T the father why not just let the test go on to get him out of the way?
Much as I hate to admit it, the Anna Nicole Smith story is a compelling one. Right now, somebody needs to find this Stern character and ask him some hard questions. And somebody needs to find Danielle Lynn's biological father because no matter what, he has full legal right to that child whether we like it or not.
The latest on Anna is a look inside her fridge. Indeed somebody got a look-see and what's in there isn't pretty. Plenty of Trim Spa stuff, no problem with that. But loads of medicine, the medicine that likely killed Anna and maybe her son.
We're on top of this story like white on rice, ladies and gems. Stay tuned.

Karla Homolka a New Mom
Karla Homolka is a woman, now age 36, who was part of a horrific team of rapists/murderers. Along with her former husband, Paul Bernardo, this duo raped and killed at least two young girls. Bernardo told Homolka that he was the Scarborough Rapist, an unknown at that time who had terrorized over 40 victims. But did Karla notify the authorities? Even when Bernardo drugged and raped her own sister, eventually killing her, did Homolka notify the authorities?
No. Instead she helped Bernardo indulge his sickness and eventually two more young women were found dead. Karla made a plea deal, her admission to manslaughter for testimony against Bernardo.
Karla Homolka is like a female OJ in Canadian circles.
Now we are to understand that this child-killer has a baby of her own?
Yes, Karla's served her jail term. She is a free woman and all restrictions on her access to children have been removed via court action.
So while her own adolescent sister choked to death on her own vomit as Karla's husband raped and tortured her, Karla Homolka is now a happy Mommy.

That Wacky Astronaut
I chanced to engage in a discussion about Lisa Nowak on an online forum. My part of the discussion focused on my own experience with obsession of a guy and as these things always go, someone or other soon enough sent me a private email telling me HER story with a guy, obsession, lust and love.
The general consensus of the forum of non-experts is that as hetero females, we've all been there and done that. We did not, however, plot to kill the rival for our guys' obsession or did we abandon our families to run off on a fool's errand.
In my case, it was a fellow named Steve, which was his real name by the way although my story dates back over twenty years so Steve likely won't recognize himself.
I don't know why I became obsessed with Steve. I was fully 30 years old, hardly a child. There had been, before Steve, two husbands and one long-term boyfriend so it isn't as if I was a virgin or anything. Steve just happened into my life at an especially weird time.
To make a long and rather boring story short, Steve ran off with some old and ugly hag or another and I became obsessed with winning him back. OBSESSED, I tell you. Obsessed when I had never been obsessed with a guy before that time and have never been since. And by most accounts I am considered a fairly sane person albeit with a bit of a temper. But I became obsessed with Steve, who was basically a big under-endowed nothing but that's not how my psyche saw it.

Lisa Marie Nowak was accustomed to hard training, prolonged deprivation and a strong sense of mission. But this is not exactly what NASA had in mind when it made her an astronaut.
Equipped with a knife, pellet pistol, can of pepper spray, steel mallet and 4 feet of rubber tubing, Nowak arrived at Orlando International Airport early Monday morning, police said, to confront a romantic rival for fellow astronaut Bill Oefelein.
Nowak, 43, remains in Orange County Jail without bail on a variety of charges arising from a confrontation with Colleen Shipman, an Air Force captain whom she is accused of assaulting in a parking garage during what police characterized as an attempted kidnapping. Her arrest may be the first-ever felony charges filed on an active-duty astronaut, the space agency told the Orlando Sentinel.
So I understand obsession and I really can believe that a normally intelligent and fine-functioning human female can suddenly lose all rationale and engage in behaviors not part of our norm.
With me, I kept calling Steve, writing him letters (no email back then), even hanging around outside his apartment and begging him to talk to me. Lord I'm not proud of this behavior but I've done it and pushed against a wall, most hetero women will admit to a weird obsession/fascination with a man that surpasses all normalcy.

NASA Deputy Administrator Shana Dale said Wednesday that there was "no indication of concern with Lisa" in the hours before her cross-country odyssey.
That's one reason why NASA is going to reassess its psychological-testing procedures for astronauts, Dale and other managers said in a news conference from agency headquarters in Washington and Johnson Space Center in Houston.
Which is not to say we get to kill the rivals for our guy's love. And we really shouldn't be running off from our families on 900 mile trips to an end that harbors no benefit whatsoever. In my case I was so Steve-obsessed I actually was seeing a shrink but by golly I had a three-year-old-daughter, a full time job and I functioned even if on the most basic of levels.
So here's to Lisa Nowak, an astronaut lady who is probably a fairly normal woman but who knows, maybe this was her time to go a little man-crazy. Still, she gets no pass for attempted murder. Evidently she left her children behind though I have no idea how all that was handled. That bit about the diaper just adds to the laughter.
We've all been there and done that, Lisa, and we understand that being an astronaut does not make you free from the commands of your hormones.
You do not get a free attempted murder, Lisa, but we'll grant you a strong, feminine understanding as you spend time in jail realizing what a fool you were.
Because when I finally got over my obsession with Steve I spent more time wondering just what the hell I was thinking than mourning the loss of that total nothing burger.
Heh.
Devlin Charges Announced
17 counts of forcible sodomy charged against Michael Devlin on behalf of 13-year-old Ben Ownby, the remainder of the 70 sodomy counts are on behalf of Shawn Hornbeck. That's over 50 counts of sodomy on Shawn Hornbeck since Hornbeck was abducted in 2002. Ownby was abducted just since this past 1/8/2007 and still he tortured Ownby with forcible sodomy 17 times.
I'm surprised at how they came up with these numbers, especially in Hornbeck's case but each charge is a felony, each could cost a life sentence in prison.

CLAYTON, Mo. -- A Missouri man accused of kidnapping two boys and holding one for more than four years was charged Monday with molesting them nearly 70 times. The charges were the first time authorities have openly accused Michael Devlin of molesting the children.
Devlin, a 41-year-old pizzeria manager, was charged with 69 counts of forcible sodomy, all felonies and each punishable by up to life in prison.
So I ask...just who the hell does this Devlin character think he is? He thinks he can just waltz off with one of our children and hold him prisoner for his enjoyment?
I got a feeling Devlin's going to be enjoying some forcible sodomy of his own, courtesy of co-prisoners in the penitentiary.
Duke Grand Jurors Speak Out; Now Having Doubts

"Knowing what I know now and all that's been broadcast on the news and in media, I think I would have definitely … made a different decision," he said to ABC News.
"I don't think I could have made a decision to go forward with the charges that were put before us. I don't think those charges would have been the proper charges, based on what I know now," he said.
In contrast, the second grand juror said he did not regret the decision to indict, but he said that he now had new doubts based on what he had learned as the case had unfolded.
Hey, we don't get a second chance. Such as Grand jurors and Senators (Hillary comes to mind) don't get a replay! They're supposed to get it right the first time!

Rwandan Terrorists Seek U.S. Asylum
The tragedy of Rwanda is a too seldom told tale but I have, via book and movie, followed this story. Which is an indictment of the United Nations and Bill Clinton, not necessarily in that order.
When terrorist rebels were ransacking that country and murdering people by the thousands, neither the U.N., whose job it is to protect against such genocide, nor Bill Clinton, did a thing to stop it.
So it turns out, and I didn't know this, that three of those terrorists were captured and charged with the brutal death of two Americans. An American judge ruled that these fine fellows were tortured for their confessions and truthfully, they probably were. Many 3rd world countries don't have the nice justice system we have here in the U.S. Now these three nice fellows are seeking asylum in the United States, home of two of the innocent people they murdered in cold blood.

The men were supposed to go on trial later this month in Washington, D.C., facing a possible death sentence in the brutal killings of Rob Haubner and his wife, Susan Miller, both Intel employees who were vacationing in Africa.
But after a U.S. judge ruled last fall that Rwandan military officials tortured the men into confessing, the men now want the charges thrown out. Leonidas Bimenyimana, Francois Karake and Gregoire Nyaminani also are seeking asylum, a step toward gaining U.S. citizenship.
It's bad enough we likely won't be able to prosecute these terrorists for the murder of our citizens. Now we are expected to have them live here amongst us?
So when is an insult a particularly cruel insult?
Barton Corbin-the Murdering Dentist from Georgia
Below, an email I received from Jennifer Corbin’s father. Jennifer was murdered by her husband, the fine Barton Corbin, and her murder was made to look like a suicide. Georgia authorities discovered, at the time of Jennifer’s death, that Mr. Corbin had another fiancé who also died from suicide.
I’ve read your post regarding the murder of my daughter. Even though the trial is over and a verdict has been rendered so much is still unclear to the public. Although I have watched very little of programming covering the murder and trial, they still don’t have it completely clear. In the spring of this year there will be a book published for and written by Ann Rule, interested individuals should take the time and read the chronicle of events in there proper sequence. I believe that Ann Rule has it right.
Without you knowing Jenn it would be extremely difficult for anyone to make a judgment immediately. Because so many of us, family, friends, even acquaintances
immediately knew that Jenn was murdered, and the only person that would do that to her was her husband, Bart Corbin. You became a friend of Jenn at once when you spoke to her, Jenn was genuine, what you saw was what you got. She was planning so thoroughly for a new future without Bart Corbin and we knew at once what happened to our daughter, our sister, our friend. This fine humble Blog has been receiving plenty of hits about Barton Corbin. In fact, this past weekend there were several shows about this crime.
There is also at least one other unusual death surrounding Barton Corbin. We’re sure our True Crime writing heroine, Ann Rule, will tell us all the details.

That Border Guard Story Keeps Getting Murkier
Covered before on this Blog HERE, the tale of these border guards gets murkier and more nefarious every day. NOW we are to understand that the Mexican drug dealer, pictured below, had been given an all-purpose pass to enter the U.S. by our own Department of Homeland Security? So why was this fellow burrowing through all the back roads and drug routes that caused the two jailed American border guards to shoot him for running away? Now these same two border guards are in jail whilst this lovely Mexican drug runner goes free?

WND has obtained a copy of the government-issued border pass given to Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila, the drug smuggler granted immunity to testify against Ramos and Compean. The border pass allowed multiple entries to the U.S. and carried the signature and badge number of Sanchez.
The border pass appears to have been issued March 16, 2005, the day Sanchez brought Aldrete-Davila to William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, to have a bullet removed from his right thigh.
"Aldrete-Davila was issued what amounts to a 'Gold Elite' border pass," Andy Ramirez, chairman of the Friends of the Border Patrol, told WND. "With the stamp for multiple entries into the United States, Aldrete-Davila didn't have to run the back roads as a drug smuggler any more. He could tell his drug bosses in Mexico that he could drive their loads right through border crossing points without much worry."
This is yet another sign that our American justice system is going straight to hell. There’s entirely too many questions about these border guards to leave any stone unturned.
